Athlete or Average Joe

You ever walked into a foot locker or any other shoe store and just see Kevin Durant's merchandise everywhere? You see everything down to all his different shoes and variety of shirts and book bags.He's like the next BIG THING! Kevin Durant is motivation to other athletes and younger athletes who want to be just like him and/or better. He shapes his image very differently from other athletes such as Lebron James, and Russell Westbrook. According to urban dictionary humble means: An admirable quality that not many people possess. It means that a person may have accomplished a lot, or be a lot but doesn't feel it is necessary to advertise or brag about it. He understands where he came from and the hard work and dedication it took to get where he is today wasn't easy. Kevin feels like he got where he is today because of his grind and heart, so why brag about it or act as if it's something brand new to him. He's always had a vision, so when it became reality it was no surprise. Below is Kevin Durants MVP Acceptance speech and you will see how humble he truly is. 

Kevin Durant's endorsements help him create a better image and to show the next generation that the love, passion, and dedication for any sport can get you places if you put the time and patience into it. I wouldn't necessarily say the celebrity aspect of his life affects with his game because his game is real laid back, calm, and collect. If he was to walk around the court talking shit or just being cocky then i would say yes his celebrity aspect does affect his game. Athletes are role models and people with problems like everyone else. Ray Rice for an example is a role model to some people and is also going through things just as everyone else. He was convicted for domestic abuse against his girlfriend but now current wife after she spit saliva on him. Now since that occurred Ray Rice has been doing service learning hours, and apologizing to publicly for his actions and to his wife. 

Fake It Until You Make It

Me and my mother was just having this conversation the other day because of an old song being played on the radio. I asked her ma is music different now from how it was when you were growing up? She looked & started laughing instantly & said of course. She said you all music today isnt real. She said music back then had a meaning behind it & sent a message now ALOT of new artist are just making it by because you all young people this generation just listen to anything lol. After the conversation i sat back & realized she was absoulety right! New artist are making it in the buisness today because they are using the internet. Upcoming artist market themselves by youtube, mix tapes, concerts.  Some of the new upcoming artist such as dej loaf,young moose and lor scoota are independent. Young Moose isnt a good look for children & for the music industry he just came home from jail from being arrested for violence in his videos such as guns, drugs, illegal money & disruptive lyrics. But yet the music industry still lets him put out this music. Many people discover some of these upcoming artist from other peers, one person might hear & they tell another or itunes is a way for them to market themselves to be heard. To me these new marketing plans are destroying radio because our generation is already violent & corrupt and for US to hear & see it influences us & makes us its ok because even if the artist has a consequence they still continue to talk about the same things. Far as CD buying i think it hurts stores because people use so many different ways to download the music illegally then stores dont make money because we got it on our phones.

Broken News

So me and my mans Shakila, decided to watch the episodes together and Kila was mad as hell. Im sitting there looking at Kila like bruh chill Nancy Grace cant hear you lol. Nancy Grace was very rude about the whole situation and for someone to be "grown" she acted very childish. At one point when the man was explaining to her why it was considered a mental illness, she was like..." uhh idc, i want the truth and that is not considered a mental illness." First off who is Nancy Grace to say whether something is a mental illness or not, last time i checked she did not have a degree in psychology. She needs to learn to know her role and play her position, cause psychology is not it. Commentators know the facts about the news but give us the run down version or the hyped up version, because we live in a country that functions off of fear. Nancy Grace is very hypocritical and is determined to make others think its either her way or no way. Ever wonder how much of the news is actually factual by the time it gets to us? After watching Nancy Grace and Bill O'Reilly it really made me think about that. Why is the news so tainted? How did it even get to be that way

Reality Televsion Corrupts the Society!!

People never really sit back and realize how reality television affects people's behavior. Well it really corrupts our society or should i say makes our society even more corrupted then what it is. Reality television comes with drama, entertainment, and lies. One reality tv show is Love & Hip-Hop. This show displays many things that some young children shouldnt even be watching. Many issues are presented on this show. Fighting is one thing i mean yeah people fight but they fight because they dont know how to sit down like civilized adults and talk about what is going on so they think if they fight it will settle everything. This gives approval to think that it is appropriate to fight everytime you come across someone you dont like or have an issue with and its not. This reality show, shows that RESPECT can't even be earned even when the other person is giving their respect. It reveals to much violence they actually had a episode where the fight was so bad they had to go on commercial. The security couldn't even break it up in a good time matter. Incidents like this happen everyday in our society but this influences violence even more because the women and men on that show are role models to some young adults who watch the show. We are trying to stress that violence isnt the key but yet its bein broad casted to the world as if nothing can happen to you while being apart of violence.

Violence doesn' get you nowhere but two places and thats dead or in prison. What the cast have to realize is that they wouldn't want to see their child, neice, or nephew doing any of the things they are doing but in their mind they believe its ok because it's on television. Love & Hip-Hop cast is seperated in relationships and for the ones not in a relationship are in the music industry. Love & Hip-Hop also reveals that making a sex tape can turn out to be a good idea after all because of all the money you make. So people think recording themselves having sex and leaking them or sending them to friends thinking it's cool and that it is a chance if the biggest porn producer will get a hold of it and give you alot of money. Thats not a good way society should make money but the way they are showing us is like its ok. What reality televison shows have to realize is that all ages watch their shows so some things should be presented & many shouldn't be just to let people know that certain things shouldnt be seen. I say this because not every person who watches reality television gets corrupted but majority of society that does watch it are. Especially for young adults who actually are already living the lifestlye that they are showing on tv, it is not fair. You got people in relationships on this show who are throwing things at one another but if a child at home is already seeing this at their home between their parents it doesn't make their situation any better. That can corrupt a child because they see their parents doing it then famous people doing it , as they get older & get into a relationship they going do the exact same thing. Television in general affects people in the society i believe. It distracts people when they have to get things done, it make people stay up late, it also stop young adults from being a young adult. What i mean by that is television takes over some childrens lives, instead of them joining a club at school, doing hw, playing outside with friends or playing a sport they decide to watch tv ALL day. Its sad but its the truth and i dont think its going to be a change, especially if it isnt one yet. Just ask yourself this "Ten years from now, do you really think reality television is ever going to have an good affect on people's behavior?"

USA Today or the Dundalk Eagle!

Who do you think will survive? When it comes to topics nationally the USA Today seems to cover it all......news, life, technology, and sports. Which category seems to interest you the most?

The news is covered nationally in the USA Today paper. Every one no matter what city or state can figure out what is happening in the world just by reading this paper. The paper generally speaks to all the citizens not just a specific part or local community or city. Far as the life section it spreads world wide, gossip gets around. Technology plays a big role in this generation. For ex. The iphone 6 just came out if you read the Dundalk Eagle you wouldn't know that it even came out especially if you don't live in the Dundalk area. The USA Today is a more elaborate paper that everyone can find things about in other cities or neighborhoods if they want to know. Sports come into a huge play when it comes to this question. As you can see the USA Today shows athletes around the world, all skilled-type, and ages. Notice how in the photo its two pictures of two athletes from two different schools in the same paper. This is what i meant when i say the USA Today paper is more of a regional paper. People would rather this paper to succeed to see whats going on in the world. This paper shows high school athletes,college athletes and big events such as championship games or play offs.

Going into the Dundalk Eagle there is not a lot of information to be gained. It only covers whats happening or occurring in the Dundalk area or community. That doesn't do other people any good who wants to receive more information regionally. This is a reason why this paper wont succeed because they don't sell as much as USA Today because its limits in their paper far as presenting global. I for myself know what the dundalk eagle provides & show far as sports because i was in it last year for womens basketball. Dundalk Eagle only represents there schools such as dundalk elementary,middle, high school & college where as though USA Today provides county schools,private schools,baltimore city schools & even Charter schools: events,sports,news, & media.     

          Now that you see the pros & cons of these newspapers make your choice. Do you still have the same decision that you've made in the beginning? If not why? Dundalk Eagle is a good news paper BUT far as getting global important information the USA Today paper is more successful of buying and its more likely to succeed
